As everyone is fully aware (the newbie nerdness and awkwardness is strong with this one!), I am on day 3 of Wealthy Affiliate. The more I meet everyone, the happier I feel. But honestly, I feel like that “I’m not worthy” fan girl kinda feeling.
I just want everyone who is new here to know that there are a lot of really amazing people on Wealthy Affiliate! I am loving it, and I am not saying that to be cheesy! Wow! If only I had access to this kind of information last year!
Back to my crew and further background info. I have been married for almost 9 years, and I have 2 fantastic kids, 7 and 4. As you can see, I am a stay at home mom of two boys, and I am loving it! Mike is my husband, and I guess he’s alright. Ha! No seriously, he has been super supportive of me trying to find my niche and place on the internet. He keeps me strong, and I try to do the same.
I work a teeny bit at a local, small grocery store called Price Less IGA. It’s my adult time and extra spending money, and I work on the weekends. My kids were already going to see their grandparents on the weekends, and my husband works most weekends. Being home alone can be fantastic the first day, but by day 3, not so much. So I took on this little job to force me to socialize more in this fairly new community. We’ve lived here for 8 years, and I knew about 20 people that I met at church. Seriously. That’s about the exact number.
So working at this grocery store has been eye opening! People tell me amazing news like being new parents/grandparents. Some people have really bad days, and I try to be a listening ear for the transactions. Some people come in really angry or upset, and I usually say something goofy and have them rolling by the time they leave. I love to laugh, and I get that it’s not for everyone. But I am a firm believer that laughter is the ultimate medicine for the heart, mind and soul!
Well that about sums up who I am in this post. The more I write, the more I think maybe I need to add some humor to my blog and website. Maybe my content is a bit dry and I need some “sparkles” (aka a funny comment or 20). My husband always says that glitter and sparkles are the “herpes” of the art world because they stick to you and NEVER LEAVE! Now I know I definitely need some comedy. Maybe I’ll have more clicks and visitors.
My goal with my sites are to offer real help to stay at home parents. I feel that stay at home mom blogs are all about the darker sides or the life hacks, and I feel that the humor side is under utilized. I also feel that stay at home dads are heavily excluded and need a place to go. But all my guy friends do not appreciate my “salmon” color scheme as they feel “salmon” is to feminine. I have to say that I concur, but all the other skins that I had to choose were a bit too contemporary or overly busy. I wanted something that was relate-able with my web pages, and maybe I will as I learn more in the community.
There you have it! Here’s a bit more info on me as well as a bit of info about my sites Just Add That and Just Add That Online. Until next time, feel free to say hi in the comments, leave a suggestion or two or just introduce yourself. I look forward to meeting this community. “It’s a beautiful day in this neighborhood!” Yeah, just showed my age. Feeling old here. Hmmm…
